Confidentiality & Privacy Policy
The law protects the relationship between a client and a psychotherapist, and information cannot be disclosed without written permission.
Exceptions include:
- If a client reports any suspicion of child abuse, dependant adult or elder abuse, I am required by law to report this to the proper authorities. This includes sexual, physical, verbal, emotional abuse and neglect, and/or financial abuse.
- If a client becomes a danger to themselves or someone else, action must be taken to protect everyone's safety.
- If a client's records are subpoenaed by court, a client's file may need to be surrendered over.
